Sufia De Silva
Born in Brooklyn N.Y by a Puerto Rican mother and a Brazilian, African American father. She believes it is her background that brings forth her creativity and spirituality. By looking at her work one can directly see the influence of her culture in her colorful work. Sufia attended a fashion Institute while in high school when realizing her true passion was making jewelry.
Sufia soon landed a job as an apprentice for a popular jewelry store, "Dar El Sudan" in the Manhattan Village. It was clear to Sufia that this would be a lifetime pursuit of excellence and has been so for the past 33 years.
